During my time at Greenhouse Ministries, I had the opportunity to work with many clients who had different lifestyles than me. Many of my clients were homeless, struggling with addiction, and had complex mental health issues. However, I found it to be a true blessing to work with these clients. I embraced my diverse caseload, and after getting to know them better I was able to step into their shoes and see how different their culture was from my own. To understand what my clients had to encounter on a daily basis, I rode the Rover, the public transportation system in Murfreesboro. I had to learn how difficult it was to navigate the bus system first hand, and I could only imagine how complicated it could be if I had a cognitive disability. This experience allowed me to be more empathetic towards my clients, and also help provide them with better treatment to help them thrive in their context and environment.

Attached above is also a case study that I created to describe one of my clients at Greenhouse. The case study paints a clear picture of how an individuals context and socio-cultural influences can shape their lifestyle and the occupations that they perform.
