At Greenhouse Ministries, I have had the opportunity to represent the field of occupational therapy among community leaders and professionals. In the picture below Rachel, Katherine, and I were selected to be on a panel of professionals to present occupational therapy's role with teens who have struggled with substance abuse and addiction. We were selected to be on this panel, because we have been directly involved with the research behind a recovery high school that might be coming to Murfreesboro in the near future. The individual who envisioned the high school came to Greenhouse in search of support for the idea, and we were then connected with her to share our insight and look into how to start such a large project. I have enjoyed being able to share what all occupational therapy can offer to this population, and I hope the future OT interns at Greenhouse will be able to carry on our work as well.
