At my first rotation, Paris Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, I was asked to create a type of intervention/activity that could be used with a variety of clients. I chose to make a PVC pipe tree. Along with the pipe tree, comes a folder with different shapes and designs that the clients have to build. There are a total of 36 different pieces of pipe, so the clients have to sort through them to find the correct piece to complete the design accurately. I chose this activity as my project, because it can work on a variety of skills at once, such as problem solving, sequencing, visual perceptual skills, and even fine motor skills. The pipe tree also made an excellent contribution to what we called the "man table", because it revolves around building and working with your hands.
